Sushi: A delight taste in the mouth. With a mixture of rice, fish, vegetables and a variety of other ingredients, it makes a great appetizer. Sushi is a Japanese food, it has become a way of art in the food industry, making different designs and combining a range of ingredients together. Mainly served with soy sauce, wasabi or pickled ginger, you will be able to savour an explosion of pure goodness in your mouth. |
For the ingredients, they were all very easy to find at my local grocery store near the sushi stand. Although they did not have the exact fish that was asked for my recipe, I informed myself to get a fish that I could put in my sushi and I ended up using 'Saumon de l'Atlantique'. The price was affordable and with little ingredients I was able to make approximately 60 sushi. |
After looking up videos, I realized it didn't look as complex as I thought it would be. By following each step carefully, there should be no room for error. The good amount of ingredients assure a wonderful result. The reason I decided to make sushi was because it was something different and new. I love eating sushi and I thought it would be a great idea to learn how to do them and share my experience. The process of preparing all the ingredients takes quite a bit of time, but once you're all set and ready to go, assembling it together doesn't take a lot of time. |
The hardest part was finding just the right amount of ingredients to put in the sushi. I wanted everything to be equal in quantity and I didn't want to over stuff it or else it would be harder to close. It took me a couple of tries to get the sushi to close well and to assure that the ingredients wouldn't pop out from the sides. |
One thing I didn't buy, which would have been useful was a knife to cut the sushi. I didn't think I needed one because I have a variety of knives in my house but when it came to cutting, it was harder because the rice kept sticking on the knife. It also gave time for the sushi to unfold itself since I was cutting slowly to assure I wouldn't ruin all the sushi. |
Overall it ended up being a great result, it was delicious and if you want to try them for yourself go ahead: http://www.makesushi.com/sushi-dinner-platter/
