Did you ever get the opportunity to visit Montreal's most popular museums? Well this year on May 24th you could've gone for free. Every year the city holds a museum day where they offer free transportation and a tour around the museums. Varying from history, art and culture, it's a great way to spend a day around town appreciating the art we have. |
With over 30 museums participating, from Picasso to famous photographer Horst. Going back to the first Vogue magazine to recent events such as the incident in Lac Mégantic. After visiting 3 museums; McCord, Red Path and Musée des beaux arts, I really enjoyed all the different types of paintings, sculptures and pictures. Don't feel like going to all museums on your circuit? No worries you can visit whichever museum you want, leave when you want and go at your own pace. The great thing about this is that you don't get a person who guides you and explains you everything in detail, while being crowded with a bunch of people. Although it might get a little crowded in some areas, just take your time and enjoy the art, after all this isn't a competition of who can visit the museums the fastest, right? |
Next year, record the date on your calendars, go stop by and you won't be disappointed!
